Shelbie is passionate about helping individuals heal mind and body with nutrition, get to the root of their symptoms and feel their best. She worked as a medical assistant and nurse tech while completing her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s in Public Health.

 

While spending time in conventional medicine, she noticed that many of her patients suffered from chronic illnesses that could be majorly improved or healed with diet and lifestyle changes. After transitioning to the public health sector and helping to develop various disease prevention and mental health programming, she noticed that nutrition was still not emphasized as a major aspect of one’s physical and mental health.

 

After receiving multiple certifications in health, wellness, and functional nutrition, she now
provides evidence-based education to her clients on how to use food as medicine so they can stop simply managing their symptoms but get to the root cause and heal. The functional nutrition and holistic health approach combines natural therapies, functional lab testing and nutritional counseling to treat the whole person.  She believes that physical and mental health shouldn’t be treated as two separate issues and nutrient deficiencies can manifest as mental health symptoms and vice versa!
