Hi I'm Shelbie, the woman behind Lambert Wellness
When I first got into nutrition after working in the medical field and public health space, I thought that women just needed a good diet and less stress...and for a while that worked for me!
Wow, did I have no clue what motherhood would bring. After I had my daughter Andie, I realized that I was going to need a lot more than that. I was struggling to "bounce back" emotionally and mentally I felt like a different person. I was overwhelmed, numb, angry, exhausted and physically depleted.
I started learning more about testing minerals levels with hair and it opened my eyes to what we could learn from a small hair sample.
I tested myself at 12 months postpartum and things didn't look great but it explained EVERYTHING that I was feeling. It also meant NO MORE GUESSING what supplements I needed, I knew EXACTLY where to start.
Once I implemented these changes, it was a night and day difference. Not to say that motherhood was no longer hard, because it is still stressful at times, but my resilience to that stress was so much better. I was able to regulate my emotions better, I had energy again, and most importantly I felt like I had my personality back.
